Education

I have a Medical Degree and PhD in biomedical sciences and more than 70 publications in peer-reviewed journals as well as several editorials and book chapters PhD, Biomedical sciences, Nutritional epidemiology, Atlanta, GA, 2004 MD, Pediatrics, Urals State Medical University, 1993, graduated in the top 4% of my class. My outstanding performance and knowledge in the area of histology and anatomy at medical school was recognized by award "The best student of the year". Finally, I have taken several an advanced courses as regular classes or seminars in graduate school: biochemistry, cell biology molecular biology, and neuroscience.

Experience

I have more than 20 years of teaching and tutoring in biomedical and public health sciences, early career mentoring, and academic coaching in English and Russian. I usually combine my tutoring with academic coaching to ensure that students will develop skills that are essential for becoming confident and independent learners, no matter what subject they are tackling. Few examples of these skills include: managing time, organizing, staying on track, planning and prioritizing, creative problem solving, study skills, test taking strategies, self-reflection, and managing emotions. After receiving my PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Emory University at Atlanta, GA, I have joined the CDC in 2005 as a health scientist/epidemiologist. Currently I am an adjunct professor of the Nutrition and Health Sciences PhD Program at Emory University. I have tutored anatomy, histology, epidemiology, and biostatistics at medical school level. I also have taught nutrition, physiology, public health classes at graduate level at Emory University.

Hobbies

In her spare time, I enjoys cooking and baking. She constantly experiments at her kitchen creating new reduced/low sodium and sugar recipes. I also love reading, although I have to read a lot for my job. Currently I am reading a lot in the area of biomedical sciences and clinical medicine. I am passionate about education. I also love writing and believe that one day when I have a little more time, I will write few books or even textbooks.
